Molly's birthday party

Rather than celebrate the completion of Molly's 9th year with a passel of sugared-up children in a small apartment in gloomy February, we held off until the afternoon before school started back up following April break. While threatening rain and not exactly warm, the day was plenty nice enough for mini-golf and the French answer to birthday cake (at left: mini eclairs on chocolate mousse -- miam-miam) at Parc Floral.

Six girls from Molly's class joined her for a round of mini-golf, called on account of cake and juice punch around the 15th hole. If you know who they are, you can just make out Emma, Louise, Margot, Manon, Sophie, and Hélèna in the picture above. The rain started as soon as we were under the party tent, which was just perfect. Her friends showered Molly with great presents, and laughed hard as they tried to guess the names/nouns taped to their foreheads. That's what's happening in the cacophony of the video below. Also, Emma's father Matthias makes a cameo at the end of the video. We're wondering if Molly will believe she understood all that all-at-once French in a year or two.

All in all, we heartily recommend the 9-years-and-almost-2-months party.
