Here's a little quiz: What time were we supposed to show up at Betsy's school to attend her medical checkup, based on the form shown here?

We failed. But it wasn't the language that caught us this time, nor the 24-hour clock that always takes a couple extra seconds to figure out. Anyone else think this looks like 16H50? (That would be 4:50pm, 25 minutes after school lets out.) We might have even figured out the correct time -- those crazy handwritten ones don't phase us any more! -- if we had known that the checkup was supposed to be during school. But alas, we'll never get used to those fours, and Cricket made elaborate plans to deal with school pickup and what to do with Molly during the appointment, only to learn when she picked up Betsy that the appointment had already happened.

We especially like the phrase in bold print: Votre participation est très importante (Your participation is very important). Oh well.

We have been tricked by those fours as well!! Kate brought home a form similar to Betsy's - except for the "votre participation" bit. CP's apparently don't need their parents as much as those in Grande Section. I planned to go to Kate's anyway only to find out they did it two days earlier than scheduled!
