A crocodile who sings

June 25, Molly's choir (from Olivet) combined with the Orléans choir for their end-of-year concert in the small town of Beaugency on the Loire River. Molly has really enjoyed this choir during our year in France, and of course the choir has given us a good excuse to travel around this region a bit: She has sung at the chateau in Ferte Saint-Aubin and at the city hall in Tours.

We enjoyed the whole concert, which consisted of many different combinations of the children (and young adults) singing various types of songs. Some songs even involved costumes, as in this picture (that's two rivers and a cloud, obviously). Keep in mind that Molly is the same age as the river standing to her right. But the high point of the concert -- for Betsy especially -- was a brief, surprise appearance Molly made in the middle of one song that Dave partly managed to capture on video since Molly had given us an inkling that something like this would happen sometime during the evening. This video needs no explanation. Okay, that's not true -- it really does need one -- but we don't have one!
