What several hundred dollars will buy you at the U.S. Post Office

Three more of our boxes arrived this morning. As you can see, they were not in great shape (no, that's not our tape barely holding the cardboard together). But we were thrilled to see them nonetheless.

All told, we now have all of our checked luggage from the airplane trip (two of the bags didn't arrive on time and had to be delivered -- separately on different days, of course). We also have 5 of the 6 boxes that we shipped. Not a great record, all in all, but we don't care as long as we see that sixth box sometime soon!

UPDATE: We returned Tues, Aug. 21 from a daylong trip to Orléans to find our last box sitting outside the door underneath the welcome mat. Not quite as insecure as it sounds, since we're staying in a place with a private courtyard requiring a code to access, but we're thankful it didn't rain yesterday! This box too was pretty trashed, but nothing seems to have fallen out or gotten damaged, and we are glad to have all of our stuff now.
