Betsleby the scrivener

Betsy is in a letter-writing phase. (Letters as in alphabet, not as in correspondance.) Any excuse to write things will do, even if it's just opening up the nearest book and copying pages out of it. Betsy never finishes a line at the end of a word except by coincidence, and she only uses spaces between words if we beg her to do so beforehand (usually when she is writing to someone else).
