The U.S. has nothing on France when it comes to the profusion of gigantic mega-marts, Wal-mart style, where you can shop for everything from groceries to large-screen televisions. Our local hyper-market, Auchan, has a small contest they're running that involves getting game credits (crédits jeu, seen in first picture) which may then be scanned at machines near the door to determine whether you've won.
Anyway, Cricket won a 2-euro coupon the other day, which is something that neither we nor any of the people standing around at the time had seen before. We decided to post her stroke of good fortune on the blog, so we went back one evening with a few crédits jeu so we could record the sound of losing the game (a series of low, descending notes). And lo and behold, she won again ON CAMERA. So at that point, we of course had to post the video on the blog, no matter how boring it is. Listen for "Bravo, vous avez gagné" (you have won), followed by Cricket's chortle of triumph, and just feel the excitement.
